Great speed, clearly her Skyrim archery skill is 100+. However, crazy light draw, and no bracer or glove????

i wonder if this technique is the archery equivalent of "fanning" with single-action revolvers. Meant to lay down a spray of OMG so the enemy hesitates to approach, rather than to make each arrow count?
when the orcs are storming a breech in the walls, it's a target rich environment.

World o' true, bro.
Yes, they should have had her coach Orlando . . . :-)
I always assumed Orlando's arrows were added in post, but this makes me believe that with the right training, he actually could have pulled it off. I thought it was impossible until I saw this.

I think Legorlando was a bit faster, but yeah, the arrows were mostly added in post. Also that way you don't accidentally murder an extra.
why do you think they call them "extras"?

You're not taking into the account the amount of detail and money Weta put into the costumes and props, even for the extras.

*giggle*
I expected to have the camera pan around, and we'd see that each arrow had split the one before.
Don't let Capitol see this, they'll send her right back into the games!
Exactly what I was thinking!
Kyle, what did I tell you about her? Get your grubby paws off!
The way to a man's heart is a broadhead between the ribs? ;D
(Seriously, though I want to see her accuracy!)

they show the target towards the end. it's roughly "man sized target".
"One in the knee, two in the guy behind you"
Oh, believe me, I watched the whole thing. ;D
Also, excellent. :D
I don't have a bow and arrow, but I do have a pocketknife. It's amazing how many guys go, "Whoa, girl with knife" when I take it out. (Deleted comment)
you'd best be posting videos young lady.
Apparently not the best way to hit an apple on the boy's head...
Depends on how you feel about the boy....
Amazing! Fast and pretty accurate, too. I always wondered how effective archery was in earlier battles and wars, and now I know.
Read up on the Mongols and you'll get a VERY good idea of JUST how effective archers can be.
Recommend Storm from the East as a readable text book type book. Blew my mind at 1) just how much I did not know about a period of history that was in fact epic. How could I NOT know about something so vast?! and 2) just how close the Mongols came to blowing all the history I DO know about (aka was *taught* about.) out of the frigging WATER.
Plus the novels by Conn Iggulen.
ого! скорость хорошая ;) Ей бы во времена "стрелы робин-гуда" :)
Ammateur, I don't know what you just said, but I love your user icon. *g*
The basic technique of letting your hand move back at the release to grab the next arrow is something many SCA archers do. I know I've done it many times. It's an especially useful techniqure for timed shoots where you want as many arrows on target in a minute (or whatever the set time is).
I agree her bow looks super light to me. I'd guess under 30 pounds. That's fine for target, but useless for hunting or warfare.
For what she's doing, she's fine. I'm not overly impressed though as I know many SCA archers who can do as well, if not better, and many who shoot heavier bows with nearly the same speed.
As Terry Pratchett says, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach and up under his ribs."
I wonder if the—what looks to me like a—backwards draw helps with the speed of getting the arrow to the string and pulling...
Also, I want to know how many pounds of pull that bow requires to draw. Because either she's really strong, or it's not much.
