Saw my sports medecine doctor on Friday, he showed me my MRI and you can pretty plainly see where my tibia fractured, all the way out to the ankle bone. The healing time for something like this is 6-8 weeks, which means I have 2-4 weeks before it's fixed. He came up with a "back to running" schedule that will give me a week of training before the Broad Street run, we'll see if it happens. It may, it may not. It's not the olympics so if I don't make it, there will be other races. In the meantime I'm "aqua jogging" to keep up my cardio and showing everybody at the gym the photo of my Sports Related Injury.

Yikes! Give yourself time to heal and it'll be fine. I've seen worse on racehorses that came back to their full form!
It's pretty amazing how you couldn't even see this on the X-ray images. The medial malleolus of the tibia and the lateral malleolus of the fibula make up the pokey ankle bones that you can see externally, and this almost looks fractured from one side of the tibia to the other. Ouch!

Photographic--er, MRIfic--evidence of your badassness. All honor to your bony structures; may they reintegrate with integrity.
Well, ouch. Did this happen when you were outrunning those zombies?! May you heal fast and completely, & in the meantime, hooray for aqua jogging!
How in the name of G-d did you even do that?
Crap like this is why I don't run! On the other hand, I have a sitting "tailor's style" too much injury that required a cortisone injection.
