so... anyway. last night i decided to get rid of the butternut squash that's been sitting in the fridge by making soup. which i did.

while watching "AC/DC Live at Castle Donnington" which was the 1991 Monsters of Rock show with Metallica, and Queensryche. I must say ... I was really impressed. It's the quintissential metal concert film, shot on 35mm with 26 cameras (one in a helecopter, and one under a plexiglass partitiion that runs the width of the stage) it really captures AC/DC at the peak of their career, touring The Razor's Edge for a sea of pogoing metalheads. The set list includes "Jailbreak", "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be", "Highway To Hell", "The Jack", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", "Back In Black", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Hells Bells", "Shoot To Thrill" all from their 1980 "Back In Black" and"For Those About To Rock (We Salute You"
which involves 21 cannons firing money into the crowd in a truely spinal tap moment.

It's been remastered for 5.1 surround and REALLY WELL. I don't know that I've ever heard a live album mixed for multiple speakers so well. There's also a commentary track with Angus, Malcom, and Cliff (each in a different speaker) where they recount the show and the production and just enough equipment talk to make it interesting for gear heads. Watching him play live I found myself really impressed at what an excellent guitar player Angus Young is.

So, even if you're only a casual fan, I can't recommend this highly enough.

It was during the soup eating that I realized the soup had the consistency and color of egg yolks. A little fiddling and ... ah yea, the fried egg sandwich. That's how that happened. I cut the center out of two halves of tofu with an upended shot glass. in case you were wondering.
