review in Picture
Picture magazine gave me a great review in the September issue. I've been worried lately about getting pigeonholed (Should I be doing this tattoo thing? Should I be doing this rocking chair thing?), but if people think of me in perpetuity as a documentary photographer of Americana, I won't be upset. (Especially if they use the word "grit" in there somewhere.) Because, you know, that's what interests me. I love the world, I love going places, meeting people, seeing things ... but when it comes down to it, what really captivates me the most is this country -- the good things, the bad things, the weird people, the normal people, the mountains, the desert, the trees .... it's going to take me a long time to get bored between Key West and Anchorage.
