The 85 f 1.8 is leaving the building

You may remember this post from a few weeks ago where I was looking to find a home for a lens that I don't use anymore

Well, I'm very happy to report that the lens is going to a very talented young photographer named Javier Odriozola from Montevideo, Uruguay. I hadn't considered that it would be going so far away, but after going through all the entries, I'm sure that this is the right place. Javier's eye, his use of color, and his compositional skills do not tip us off that he has only been taking photos for less than a year and has only had an SLR for three of those months.
His project, to travel through the small towns of Uruguay and take portraits of the people and their way of life, I think is in the best traditions of documentary photography and his work so far is proof that he will produce a wonderful document with it and I look forward to seeing the results.

I invite you all to look at Javier's flickr page by clicking here, and to join me in wishing him well on his project. Over the next six months Javier will be putting together a book, either for sale or downloadable of the results of his project and I'm eagerly anticipating seeing it.
Thanks to everyone who helped get the word out and helped this lens find the right person.
