in which a bunch of stuff happens.

So last night trillian_stars and I went out with whafford and Michael Swanwick and Maryanne Porter to see Samuel R. "Chip" Delany, author of Dhalgren, Empire Star and Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand and all sorts of other stuff and he was swell and nice and charming and we had a lovely time. Then we walked home through the wonderful city and crossing the bridge I was happy again that I live here and things felt vibrant and alive.

And we read Flashman and we played pinball and I gloriously didn't write a thing, feeling content to sit on my laurels for another little while, (but not too much longer). And I vacuumed and we stayed up late watching South Park and this afternoon I made some sort of cauliflower and chickpea curry which was tasty

I got an email From Dr. Elizabeth Hurd and Frederick Pohl saying that I could drop by Illinois and photograph Fred's office and they'd be delighted to have me so I'm looking through my luggage and finding that I haven't really unpacked it from last time and this really isn't a bad thing necessarily.

Then we read Flashman some more and I sat down at the computer and saw that friends Neil Gaiman and Michael Swanwick have both been nominated for Hugo awards again. Congratulations.

My life is just about perfect. I hope yours is too.
