The Drownout might be the best thing you see all year

Over the years as a photographer I've met a lot of rock stars, and I've met a lot of posers and really, 99% of the people on stage are there because they're vain and driven but they're never going anywhere because you need vanity, and drive, and talent and vanity and drive will only get you so far.

My friends, I can assure you that The Drownout are rockstars. They're on stage because they have drive and talent -- but they are decidedly humble. I don't know if the lack of vanity is going to hurt them professionally, but it makes them right tolerable to be around.

They're the most awesome indie-pop-rock band I've heard in forever. We're lucky to have them staying with us for a couple of days -- If you're in the area for any of these shows, stop by and see them. You'll leave realizing you've witnessed something special.

I did not lie to you about the Dresden Dolls, or Regina Spektor, or Carfax Abbey, or Nicki Jaine -- I would not steer you wrong. Drownout. Seriously.
