This morning from the local cat rescue:
i just got a call from pacca saying that they have 15 litters of kittens with no place to go. there are no cages available for these kittens, and if foster homes are not found for them, they will need to be put down. so far this year the shelter has not needed to euthanize kittens for space (which is huge if you've ever visited during kitten season). if you are able to give 2 weeks of your time to some kittens in need, you might be able to help keep this trend going! i was there yesterday and most of the kittens are in the 1-1.5 pound range- just shy of the 2lbs required for them to be spayed/neutered and put up for adoption. as i already mentioned, this would only require about 2 weeks of your time.
SO: if you would like to help out and foster some kittens (come on, you know you want to!), please send me an e-mail. i will pick them up and drop them at your door, along with food and cat litter for them. please let me know asap if you are interested!
you know you want to help out a kitten.
and in other news --
Mr. Barnum, still clutches his cane!
I don't think this is going to get old any time soon.
