one of the nifty side-effects of the book is that long lost friends are finding me. i got an email last week from matt reece, who was the editor of my old college magazine venue -- i, you may or may not be surprised to know, was the editor of the poetry magazine, avant -- anyhoo, he'd seen the Philly Weekly article and dropped me a line. last night he came by and we talked about how important it is to have a constantly creative peer group to motivate you. that's so true. no artist thrives in a vacuum.
you people out there -- be creative today, motivate your friends to write a book, paint a picture, sculpt something out of old tires. change the world today -- make it the better for your having breathed her air today.
took a walk this morning and found this happy guy having breakfast in the nine million degree heat.
