What passes for a recipe
1 lb extra firm tofu
3/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 onion chopped finely
1/4 stalk celery chopped finely
6 button mushrooms, chopped finely
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tblspoon mustard
2 tblspoons veganayse
1 medium potato
1/4 sheet nori chopped into 1/4 cm squares (makes roswell go mad)
squeeze all the water out of the tofu, just squeeze it in your hands and mash it up. put it in a mixing bowl with the rest of the ingredients.
microwave the potato till it's soft all the way through, then peel it, and mash it in a bowl with some water till it makes a profoundly joyous paste. mix this in and stir it around till it's well mixed.
form into thin patties about 3 inches apart. fry over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
serve with fried onions and tartar sauce (make your own out of veganayse). you can also serve it with mustard, catsup, or bbq sauce. or top with tomato paste and cheese. or serve in a puddle of tomato sauce with diced tomatoes and green peppers. the world is your tofu oyster.
