waiter! one weekend full of awesome please!

Friday we went to the Kimmel Center to see the Philadelphia Orchestra -- Trillian, on account of being Trillian Stars, had scored The Absolute Best Seats in the the house, directly behind the orchestra. Guest conductor Roberto Minczuk (from the Calgary Philharmonic and the Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira) was staring right at us, it was really like the show was just for us. We were about 11 feet in the air in the front row so we were able to look right down into the Steinway as the two percussionists played the strings with hairbrushes and drumsticks during George Ligeti's atmospheres. It was freakin' awesome. I'm serious. It was the best concert viewing experience I've ever had. (They also played Brahms Violin Concerto in D major, Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra and the other Strauss's On the Beautiful Blue Danube. Then we went to XIX and hung out on the balcony overlooking Philadelphia (it looked a bit too much like the opening scene from Cloverfield.)

Saturday we went to the Italian Market and bought a bunch of portabello mushrooms, and to Home Despot looking for a gas fireplace (we've decided to get rid of the wood-burning because who the heck wants to go outside in 2 degree weather for more wood?) but they were sold out.

Then we went and did promo photos for the new Curio Theater production of What the Butler Saw and had dinner at the new Dock Street Brew Pub.

Somewhere along the line, we went shopping and Trillian got this fine new dress.
