it's only rock and roll but i like it

Fronting Carfax Abbey Gary Billings was going about a thousand miles an hour when he hit a wall. The resulting implosion punched a hole in the goth-metal music scene and left a lot of stunned club kids and angsty teens with even less direction than they'd had before. But you don't get to be Carfax Abbey by accident and over two years, Gary picked up the pieces and moved on. Yesterday his accoustic solo album (recorded and engineered by freaking BRAINCLAW "Grey Skies") was a CD Baby editors pick. They called it "Well written, dark acoustic rock with elements of powerful yet passionate emotion."

You can Buy it here, or listen to short MP3's. There are full length MP3's on Gary's myspace page.

You shouldn't buy it just because it has a cool photo on the cover. But how could you really resist?

If you're a fan of Carfax Abbey and you're expecting music that punches you in the face, rolls you over a cliff and hides the body you're not going to find it. Instead Gary takes one of the most distinctive voices in heavy metal and unplugs, delivering six songs from someone whose stood on the edge -- which is where Carfax Abbey spent an awful lot of time, and I think it's a place that Gary doesn't want to go back to. It's quiet, exculpatory, humble, and even a bit country (I'm not kidding). All this proving that music just might be able to save your soul.

Congrats Mr. Billings.
