SWEET BARKING CHEESE!!! [Dec. 2nd, 2008|08:55 pm]
kyle cassidy
[mood |accomplishedaccomplished]
[music |amanda palmer: creep]

I'd blogged about this moment but i just discovered that there's a freaking youtube video of it that Lee posted. It was an important moment in my recent life, it might only make sense to me, but I'm glad that this soundtrack exists to augment my memory of the whole thing. It seemed that we'd all grown up, but we we'd become the people we'd always dreamed that we would be when we were kids.

(And you get to see the one freaking pair of pants that I wore for an entire week.)

Gee, the most I ever did was get up and make breakfast for a bunch of people and go back to bed. I don't think there was even a kazoo or a whistle in that house at the time. Of course I was actually asleep at the time, but I hear the food was good.

For your friends: Way to go! Talented even when tired.

And there's a quick peek of a corner of your head! I can see your eye! You're famous!

I wish I was that comfortable sitting around in my underwear, playing the ukulele for friends.

If Radiohead fired their singer and hired Amanda Palmer... I'd actually listen to them.

...we'd become the people we'd always dreamed that we would be when we were kids.

*sigh*

And you have now become the people OTHERS want to be.

It's funny that you post this now, because I just finished transcribing my recent interview with Amanda, in which I asked her about this week. Her comments about it didn't make it into my article, but I think you'll really like her quote, so I'll post it for you when I go back to work tomorrow.

This is unrelated to your post here, but I traveled to your site through cat_lovers. To think in 2007 I came across your photography on a Barnes and Noble display table and now here is that same amazing photographer on Live Journal. Would love to be a friend through LJ. I can't say my blog is enlightening, I use blogger and picasa for those types of posts. Please add me and keep up your amazing work.

I've only just woken up, so I get to start my day with a video of one of my favourite musical women serenading a beloved author by playing my favourite band on a tiny instrument. And then, I noticed she was doing it in her underwear, utterly self-possessed.

This would have been an awesome video to begin with, but remembering it from you intial post makes it that much more awesome.

Sweet barking cheese, indeed!

It's nice to sort of see you (and Beth! Oh, has there ever been a prettier girl?) in the background.

Of course, Neil and Amanda are freaking amazing in the way that he looks adorably uneasy and she's the one that's performing in her underthings.

I just realised it's infra-red photography -- which is why I'm apparently wearing green-grey clothes that were really very black.

And yes, best night ever.

Neil
