"Effinghm Nidbjorg 'Nidbsy' Podish, Ph.D., born 1972, went to school at Oxford and is known best for his 1992 book Everything in my Pocket is Green and two minor pamphlets about tree sap. He has a dog named Jackson Browne."
So at the conference I turn to the guy sitting next to me and say: "I don't really know who this guy is, can you tell me anything?"
And dude sits back, tilts his head up and says "You don't?! You've never heard of Dr. Effinghm Nidbjorg Podish?! Oh, well yes, he's quite famous, quite famous, good old 'Nidbsy', let me see, off the top of my head, he's went to Oxford and is best know for his 1992 book Everything in my Pocket is Green plus, of course the two minor pamphlets on tree sap, which I think are required reading. Oh, and he has a dog named Jackson Browne."
I am hereby coining the phrase WikiPontificate to mean the act of reading the same freaking Wikipedia page as everybody else but pretending you knew it all along. The noun "WikiPontiff" will describe such a person.
"Jim? No, you don't want him on your Quizzo team, he talks a good game, but he's just a WikiPontiff."
EDIT: How about Wikitude? "I asked if anybody knew anything about the speaker, but all I got was obvious Wikitude."
