City Kitties is having an art auction -- last years was very successful and they're looking for artists who will donate a painting, photo, sculpture, hand-made book, whatever (circle23 I'm looking at you) there were many donations last year from the blogosphere, I recall seeing several by haleyluna. If you're interested in donating, check out this link here:
I have my own proposition -- I'd like people to paint, draw, comic strip, collage or sculpt Roswell or Meatball Sung, both of whom have enormous fan clubs, and donate the paintings, drawings, or sculptures. To make this easier for you, I've put together a gallery of most of the photos of the two of them I posted in the last three years (oh joy!)
There are three pages of images, the arrows to go to the next ones are half way down each page on the right -- it's easy to miss them amidst all the photos.
If you're all "Squee! Kitten Joy!" but can't donate art and can't come to the auction, you can Still help city kitties out by donating they're a 501c, so ALL YOUR DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. How exciting.
More of a dog person but still itching to do a good deed? Fear not! yackersmackern writes to tell of a South Jersey dog in need of help. Can you foster?
Her name is Lucy she is just over 2 years old, she is a mutt looks to be boxer, lab and possibly german shappard. She weighs about 85 lbs. She has a good temperament and is good with older kids. She should be in a cat free home as she antagonizes them to the point of annoying the cats into hiding all the time, she doesn't hurt them just can't understand why they don't want to play with her and she doesn't give up. She has been in what is her second home for only a few months and because the other dog that live there is very similar to her behavior with cats, she has taken to biting the other dog when he continues to nag at her to play. Although the current owner loves her he doesn't want his dog hurt so, she may need to be the only dog or at least only with another dog who is not so hyper and attention driven that he won't give her time to herself. They can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org<mailto:email@example.com> and I will send them contact information of the current owner. She is in South Jersey, the Berlin area. Her current owner is desperate and doesn't want to take her to a shelter for obvious reasons.
