our day

trillian_stars and I spent this lovely afternoon running about in the woods.

We found ourselves under a walnut tree in a field. I remember back when I was in third grade my friend scott had several of them in his yard and groups of neighborhood kids would fill our pockets with walnuts (as a fruit it's a lot like a rock hard apple) and bring our own tin trash-can lid and have enormous walnut wars.

Ah, those were the days. When getting whacked in the head with a walnut was not only an acceptable way to spend an afternoon, it was exhilarating. Now that I'm a grownup, I don't throw walnuts at people much anymore. But now I can juggle. Trillian captured the auspicious moment on mah ifone.

I'm off to finish a super technical Videomaker article and also tomorrow's big blog post about the Dalai Lama.

Be swell.
