We first heard about tribal-industrial sensation iVardensphere when the Dead Milkmen's Rodney Anonymous started raving about them on Twitter.

It's four guys in leather aprons playing the drums of the apocalypse with some patch-cabled electronics. It's the kind of music that you'd expect to hear while giant robots punch one another in the face -- well, at times it's like that. It can also be a lot quieter, more melodic, and ... downright soothing check out the hypnotic, almost trip-hop Donnie Darko of Chasing the Dragon.

We saw them last week when they came through Philly at the Enormodome (rest of their tour schedule is on their web page.)

Their set was wonderful, we did a few photos before the show.

The next morning we had tofu hoagies from FuWah and waved them goodbye off to New York and Boston and were very sad to see them go.

Listen to my favorite iVardensphere song on Youtube. It's named after an Egyptian god.

After they left, we discovered that one of them had left their sunglasses. Here's trillian_stars with genuine Rock Star Shades looking industrial badass.

I'm going to spend the rest of the night working on my essay for the Bed Song Book -- trillian_stars is out at rehearsal for The Laramie Project: 10 Years After. There will be more about that later.
